Treatment for Anxiety
An anxiety disorder can develop in a number of ways. It is important for mental health professionals to develop targeted treatment for your anxiety.
Inpatient Treatment
Our hospital offers treatment of addiction and mental health issues that often go hand-in-hand.
We provide relapse prevention and lifestyle management strategies, and discuss the skills, techniques and strategies needed to understand and manage dependency disorders.
We adopt an abstinence-based approach to treatment. All admitted to our addictions program have the option to undertake the 12 step support group program, either Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA), which offers an addiction recovery framework.
Our specialised treatment for addiction addresses the root causes of the disease, including:
- Low self-esteem
- Anger
- Sadness
- Guilt/shame
- Abuse or trauma
- Abandonment (emotional or physical)
Day Programs
Applied CBT for Mood and Anxiety Disorders
This program helps you to understand and change unhelpful thinking that may be negatively affecting your day-to-day life. CBT deals with the ‘here and now’ - how your current thoughts and behaviour affects you, now and how to change patterns to function better in the future.
Exercise for Mental Health
This program provides insight into the basics of a healthy lifestyle and how physical health can positively impact overall wellbeing. You will discuss nutrition, diet, exercise, balanced lifestyle, motivation, goal setting and mindfulness.
Focused CBT for Wellbeing
This program provides a supportive and ongoing group therapy that reinforces CBT skills practice, including the revision of program skills and the introduction of new topics.
Maintaining Wellness
This program uses an open discussion based forum, and each topic uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches. The aim is for you to achieve wellness and cope with your mental health issues. Goal setting allows you to practice skills from the session and provide feedback the following week.
